This notice supplements the Privacy Policy for players in the United States. It is written for California's CCPA as amended by the CPRA, and we apply the same rights to residents of every other state with a comprehensive privacy law (Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island), because running one standard is simpler than running eighteen.
1. We do not sell or share your personal information
We have not sold personal information, and we have not shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising, in the last twelve months. We have no advertising partner, the game contains no advertising SDK, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Because we do neither, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link to give you: the answer would be the same before and after you clicked it. If that ever changes, this notice will change with it, and the link will be here.
We do not sell or share the personal information of anybody we know to be under 16. Players must be 13 or over.
2. What we collect, in the statute's categories
| CCPA category | Collected? | Examples, if yes |
|---|---|---|
| A. Identifiers | Yes | An account identifier and a player ID we generate; an install identifier (on iPhone, Apple's identifierForVendor), which is not an advertising identifier; a Game Center or Google Play Games player identifier; a Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google identifier; an email address if you use Sign in with Google or write to support; and a welcome-gift marker per device (on Android a one-way hash of the Android ID for our app), kept after account deletion for 24 months after the device is last seen |
| B. Customer records | Yes, limited | A display name you choose; a relay email address if you allow Apple to share one; your name and profile picture if Google shares them |
| C. Protected classifications | No | None |
| D. Commercial information | Yes | Which in-app products you bought and when, and whether you have ever bought anything. Not your payment details: Apple or Google holds those |
| E. Biometric information | No | None |
| F. Internet or network activity | Yes | Sessions, screens opened, levels started, won, failed or left, boosters used, coins earned and spent, daily reward claims, performance samples and crash reports; your device's model, operating system, memory, graphics chip, screen, language, time zone, which store installed the app, and whether notifications are allowed |
| G. Geolocation data | No | We record the country your phone is set to in its own settings. We do not derive location from your IP address and never collect precise location |
| H. Audio, video, or similar | No | We record the moves of a level (which crate moved where) to verify a result. Nothing from your microphone, camera or screen |
| I. Professional information | No | None |
| J. Education information | No | None |
| K. Inferences | No | We do not build profiles or infer characteristics about you |
| Sensitive personal information | No | We do not collect it |
Each category comes from the sources, and is used for the purposes, described in sections 1 to 3 of the Privacy Policy. We disclose identifiers, commercial information and internet activity to our hosting provider, and to Apple or Google for sign-in and purchases, for business purposes only, under contracts that forbid them from using it for their own.
3. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used and disclosed, and get a copy of it in a portable form;
- Delete what we hold about you;
- Correct anything inaccurate;
- Opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, which we do not do;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, which we do not collect;
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these. Using a right will never change your progress, your items or your prices.
Some states also give you the right to appeal a decision we make about a request, and to opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not profile.
4. How to make a request
- Deletion is in the game. Settings, then Delete my account. It closes the account permanently, deletes your saved progress and device records, and anonymises your profile. The welcome-gift marker is kept without any account identifier, and past leaderboard results stay without your name, as section 8 of the Privacy Policy sets out. We will remove those results too if you ask.
- Getting a copy is in the game. Settings, then Export my data writes a
cratejam-my-data.jsonfile you can open or share from your phone. - Without the app, or for anything else (correction, appeals, or the raw analytics rows behind the summary in the export): email privacy@unichat.dev.
We respond within 45 days, and may take another 45 where the law allows, in which case we will tell you why.
How we verify you. We do not know who you are and would rather keep it that way, so we verify a request by matching it to the account it is about. A request made inside the game is authenticated by itself. By email, we may ask for your player ID (your profile shows it) or the email of the Google or Apple account you signed in with.
Authorised agents may make a request on your behalf with your written permission, and we may ask you to confirm it directly.
5. Appeals
If we refuse a request, you may appeal by replying to our answer with the word appeal and your reasons. A different person reviews it and answers within 45 days. If we refuse the appeal, we will tell you how to complain to your state's Attorney General.
6. Notice of financial incentive
We do not offer one. Nothing in Crate Jam costs more, pays less or plays differently based on what data you let us keep.
